"Selling To Germans" workshop no. 5 with a topic "Overcoming cultural barriers - how to improve negotiations with German business partners"

German business culture differs a lot from Vietnamese. This workshop aims to raise awareness of differences between Germany and Vietnam in business situations and give some useful tips how to negotiate the cultural terrain with German business partners. In the workshop participants will learn to identify potential pitfalls in cross-cultural communication situations and analyze a typical German negotiation situation.

GIC/AHK Vietnam's press conference on the AHK World Business Outlook survey 2019

On 20 June 2019, GIC/AHK Vietnam will organize a press conference to announce the general results and Vietnam's result of our AHK World Business Outlook Survey 2019 - A barometer of the business confidence among German companies operating worldwide and in Vietnam. 

This survey rests on a regular DIHK-survey of business members of the German Foreign Chamber of Commerce (AHK), Delegations and Representatives (of the AHK). It obtains worldwide feedbacks of over 3.500 German businesses, branches and subsidiaries, as well as businesses with close connections to Germany and was conducted in April 2019.  On this occasion, we would like to extend a big thank to everyone who participated in our survey as well.

Business Conference "Ho Chi Minh City - The city of limitless opportunities" in Frankfurt am Main

A business conference organized by DoFA Ho Chi Minh City and GIC/AHK Vietnam on the occasion of the visit in Germany of Dr Nguyen Thien Nhan, party secretary of Ho Chi Minh City took place in Frankfurt am Main on 24 May 2019. The purposes of this conference are to further enhance the bilateral business ties and to attract more German investors to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Mr Marko Walde, Chief Representative of GIC/AHK Vietnam participated in this event and gave his speech to open the conference and to welcome all the guests from Germany and from Ho Chi Minh City.

New plant in Vietnam: Schaeffler invests 45 million euros 

On Thursday, 9 May 2019, Schaeffler celebrated the opening of its new plant in Bien Hoa, Vietnam. The automotive and industrial supplier invested over 45 million euros in the construction of this new production plant.
The company will create around 300 new jobs here by the end of the year. More here >>>

Dong Nai: The Plant Inauguration Ceremony of Schaeffler Vietnam Co. Ltd, 09 May 2019

The first phase of the facility costs 45 million euros, covers 100,000 square meters and has a total capacity of 15 million products a year. It will generate 300 jobs for locals, while phase two will commence in 2022. Mr Georg Schaeffler, chairman of the supervisory board of Schaeffler AG and shareholder of Schaeffler Group; Mr Nguyen Phu Cuong, chairman of Dong Nai people committee and Mr Marko Walde, Chief representative of German industry and Commerce Vietnam are the distinguished guests at this event.

Ninh Thuan: The opening ceremony of wind and solar energy farm of Trung Nam, 25 April 2019

Trung Nam solar and wind power plant is the largest green and clean energy farm in Vietnam at this point of time. SIEMENS and ENERCON - the German manufacturers and solution providers provided almost the equipment and technology for this project. Mr Marko Walde, Chief Representative of German Industry and Commerce Vietnam attended in this event and delivered his speech to congratulate Trung Nam Group and the German partners. This project shows the fact that German companies support the energy transformation in Vietnam and create clean and environmentally friendly energy for Vietnam!

Hanoi: Seminar "Promoting Trade and Investment Cooperation between Vietnam and strategic partners: Perspectives from businesses", 14 May 2019

Congratulation to the successful Falling Walls Lab competition this year in Hanoi with more than 30 applications and 10 finalists, organized by DAAD Vietnam.
