Apr 19: CGCIC organized as part of the Transatlantic Dialogue Initiative its AI conference at the SAP Labs. Discussion topics, amongst others, were the newest developments in online marketing, image recognition technology and employee replacement through automation.

May 25: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been (along with various other companies outside Europe) implemented on the German Chambers of Commerce abroad. CGCIC has made serious efforts to comply with the strict regulation which sets a new gold standard for data protection but comes with multiple challenges for small and medium sized companies.

Results of AHK World Business Outlook, Berlin

Spring 2018: The DIHK in Berlin published the results from a comprehensive survey capturing the outlook for German businesses in the first half of 2018. It is based on a regular DIHK survey among member companies of the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad, delegations and representative offices (AHKs).

GP JOULE’S Single-Axis Solar Tracker completes  20-Year Reliability Testing, Toronto

GP JOULE Canada Corp., announced today that the PHLEGON® single-axis tracker has passed a series of accelerated life-cycle tests conducted by the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary.

.Biometrics expansion

Jul 31: Starting summer 2018, individuals from Europe, the Middle East and Africa who are applying to Canada for permanent residence or temporary status (including work or study permits and visitor visas) will be required to provide biometrics (fingerprints, photo) before their applications are processed. To facilitate repeat travel to Canada, applicants for a visitor visa, study or work permit will only need to give their biometrics once every 10 years.

The global car sharing market will continue to grow in the coming years. In Canada, a country with a high proportion of cars per household, interest in carsharing solutions is increasing, especially in densely populated regions.
